Accompanying Therapies

According to our experience the successful treatment of Lyme disease demands additional "accompanying therapies" and a necessary change of "life style".

The following effects can be reached through "accompanying therapies", e.g.:

  1. Better compatibility and effectiveness of the antibiotics
  2. Strengthening of the immune system (holistic)
  3. Pain relief  (even for chronic pain)
  4. Milieu changes for an "unfavourable" surroundings for further reproduction of Borrelia bacteria
  5. Detection of "hidden" (persistent) Borrelia bacteria in the connective tissue
  6. Reducing the production of inflammatory substances (incl. recovering the balance of Th1 and Th2)
  7. Treatment of depressive mood
  8. Support of organ functions (liver and kidney amongst others) and "flushing-out" of toxic substances
  9. Improvement of body physics

The BCB was specially designed to offer patients these accompanying therapies along with the antibiotic treatment.  Most of the accompanying therapies are not provided by the physicians of the medical partnership, but by therapists and staff of the Borreliose Centrum Blankenburg.

The range of these services can be booked as individual therapies or weekly program.  Also important are the possibilities of "self-help", which the patients will be introduced to:

  1. Individual Therapies:  naturopathic therapies, dietary supplements, broad range of physiotherapies, photon- and electro therapies, nutritional advice, exercise programs, relaxation and "energy" work (incl. mental coaching) - please see details below
  2. All inclusive Weekly Program Lyme disease "Intensive Treatment and Rehabilitation" in the day medical clinic for 1 or more weeks (undefinedLink)
  3. Information and advice on "self-help" (undefinedLink) to activate your own "self-healing powers" (supporting the immune system)

Our therapists and employees can give you further information.  They will also inform you which services can be prescribed (prescription) and which services can only be provided as other services or IGel.

Note:  The prescription gives no guarantee that it will be compensated by your health insurance.  At the moment, health insurances compensate those accompanying therapies only in exceptional cases.
For English speaking patients the price of the treatments will be higher than for the German speaking patients due to additional costs for BCB (foreign language).

This list only offers general proposals and information and makes no claim to be complete.
